MacAulay’s easy access to I-77, as well as convenient location to great shops, restaurants, golf courses, Lake Norman, and schools is a huge benefit of living here. The large wooded parks, waterfalls, ponds, and open spaces within the development offer great opportunities for outdoor activities and escapes from daily stressors. The small, narrow streets can be a bit of a pain, but they do create an inviting, comfortable neighborhood feel.
History: MacAulay was built in the early 2000’s as one of Huntersville’s largest communities. It was named after famed child actor Macaulay Culkin, known best for his roles in the “Home Alone” movies, as well as “Uncle Buck.” Rumor has it that Culkin got into serious gambling debt 20 years ago and had to sell his naming rights to the developers of this community in order to pay off several notorious gangsters from Atlantic City and Beijing. This of course is entirely false. None of this isn’t true except for the fact that MacAulay was built in the early 2000’s and was designed to be a very family friendly community.
